Netflix’s New Show ‘Partner Track’ Is Like ‘Emily In Paris’ Meets ‘Suits’

Sign. Us. Up.

What do you get when you combine the frothy energy of Emily in Paris with the legal dramedy of Suits? Cue: Partner Track, your next Netflix obsession.

Created by Georgia Lee, the streaming giant recently dropped the first trailer for the upcoming 10-episode book-to-TV series and quickly caught viewers’ attention for its cute – and, yes, somewhat cliché – rom-com vibes.

Intrigued? Below, we share everything we know about Netflix’s new show Partner Track, from the plot to the release date and all the details in between.

What is the plot of Partner Track?

Based on author Helen Wan’s acclaimed 2013 novel The Partner Track, the show centres around Ingrid Yun, a first-generation Korean-American and ambitious attorney en route to becoming a partner at her prestigious New York law firm, Parsons Valentine – the first woman from a minority background to do so.

However, between the power structures at work, navigating life as the only woman of colour in an old-school law firm, and the return of an old fling threatening to upend everything, Ingrid has her work cut out for her.

Per Netflix’s synopsis: “With the support of her friends, she battles through workplace challenges to break through the glass ceiling in her path to becoming a partner. But will her drive and ambition leave room for love?”
