9 New TV Shows We Can't Wait to Stream in March

Hello March, since we’ve already binged-watched our way through February’s best new TV series, we couldn’t be more ready for you. This new month is bringing with it a host of new shows, across a number of different genres, all of which we can’t wait to watch.

A Marvel superhero show? A brand new high school drama? A chilling psychological drama? A hospital comedy? We’re spoiled for choice this month. Here are the best nine shows you need to add to your must-watch list.

9 best binge-worthy shows to watch in March

1. Genera+ion

Lena Dunham returns to television with Genera+ion, her new series created in tandem with father-daughter duo, 19-year-old Zelda Barnz and her father Daniel.

The show is similar in tone to Euphoria, in that it follows a group of high schoolers in a conservative community in Orange County as they explore their sexuality, and does so with nuance, intimacy and depth. Definitely one for anyone who can’t get enough of high school dramas such as Sex Education or Never Have I Ever.

Where to watch in Australia: 11 March on Binge.

2. Bloods

This six episode comedy series follows two paramedics and their colleagues at a South London ambulance station, as they try to save lives in their chaotic and frenetic line of work. It’s a workplace comedy, mixed in with a bit of medical humour: think Scrubs meets No Activity.

Where to watch in Australia: 11 March on Stan.

3. The One

What if you could send in a strand of hair and be genetically paired to your one true love? Would you do it? This is the premise of The One, a chilling psychological thriller coming soon to Netflix and promising to be this month’s obsessive binge-watch.

The show is set in a sci-fi world where relationships are formed by genetic matching, and though very little else is known about the show, it’s safe to say that if it appears too good to be true, it probably is.

Where to watch in Australia: 12 March on Netflix.

4. Making Their Mark

We’re including this AFL documentary on the streaming list because it actually sounds incredible. Isn’t it cool that a series about AFL is going to be beamed all around the world on Amazon Prime Video? How great is that for recognition and representation of our Australian footy? But also, as proven by sporting documentaries such as The Last Dance on Netflix last year, there’s nothing more thrilling than a well-made series charting the ups and downs of a sporting season.

Even if you’re not a huge AFL fan, this series is going to dive deep into the lives of players in one of the strangest years of footy (2020, naturally) and look at how they managed to make it through all the downs - and ups.

Where to watch in Australia: 12 March on Amazon Prime Video.

5. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

This is one for the Marvel fans in the house. This series will follow the exploits of Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), reeling in the aftermath of the final Avengers movie, as they pair up to take on a new threat.

So many of your old favourites from the Captain America franchise will be back in this series, including Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp), but the big rumour is that a few new faces will also appear, like Florence Pugh, who is joining the Marvel universe as Black Widow’s sister, and is poised to take over the role that Scarlett Johansson has vacated. Will Pugh’s superhero character make an appearance in this television show? You’ll have to tune in to find out.

Where to watch in Australia: 19 March on Disney+.

6. Country Comfort

First things first, yes, we know the trailer for this Katharine McPhee-starring vehicle broke the Internet when it was released in February. The accents, the laugh track, the cheesy jokes - it all looked overwhelming. But hey, what would a month of television be without a deliciously trashy binge-watch?

We’re not saying that this is going to be good, but who are we kidding, we’ll be watching every episode - and sometimes that’s just what you need after a long day at work.

7. A Teacher

First released in America late last year, A Teacher has become one of the most talked-about series and the most-watched original show on streaming platform Hulu.

It has a dark and uncomfortable subject matter, following an educator played by Kate Mara who grooms one of her young students, and digs into the consequences of this over a long period of time.

Where to watch in Australia: 21 March on Binge.

9. Invincible

We know, it can feel like we’re dominated by superhero content right now, but we truly believe that this series is one of the better ones. It’s animated but adult think Bob’s Burgers or Bojack Horseman for the vibe - and follows a 17-year-old who is just a regular teenager, except his dad is the most powerful, most famous hero on the planet. As he grows into his own powers, he comes to realise that his father might not be the good guy he once thought he was.

The voice cast for this series is incredible: Steven Yeun, JK Simmons, Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Mark Hamill, Zazie Beetz and Gillian Jacobs. We’re already obsessed.

Where to watch in Australia: 26 March on Amazon Prime Video.

Did you also binge-watch Bridgerton and can’t wait until season two drops? Well, may we suggest the show Bridgerton fans can’t stop raving about (with some even admitting it’s steamier and more scandalous!)? Here’s everything you need to know about this drama-packed show.
