These Are the 5 Netflix Shows the Bed Threads Team Are Obsessed With Right Now

What did we even do before Netflix? It seems like a lifetime ago when we would all pile into the local Blockbuster (RIP) to pick out a couple of new release DVDs and some snacks to enjoy over the weekend. Nowadays, things are much more streamlined and the best part is that you never even have to leave the comfort of your sofa to find the next series or film to watch. That, and no late fees. We're always on the hunt for the most thrilling crime stories, side-splitting comedies, and inspiring wellness documentaries, and trust the recommendations we get from friends and colleagues above all else. In the Bed Threads office, we regularly give each other updates on what we're watching and whether or not we'd recommend it to our fellow Threads crew. Here are the five shows that the Bed Threads team can't stop talking about.

The Stranger

Gen's newest addiction is The Stranger. No stranger herself to a thriller, this brand new addition to the streaming service has it all: conspiracies, questionable members of the police force, inter-connected and overlapping plotlines, and suspense. Based on Harlan Coben's book of the same name, Gen is halfway through this eight-part series and can't wait to see how the show wraps up!

Kath and Kim

I think we can all agree that adding everyone's fave early 2000s comedy to its lineup is one of the best decisions Netflix has made recently. If there's a classic Australian series that's worthy of a weekend binge, it's Kath and Kim. Bed Threads team member Minta is currently re-watching all of the nostalgic goodness, including the iconic Kath & Kimderella movie. Look at moi.

I Am a Killer

This shocking series has previously been featured in our list of the most gripping true crime documentaries and has recently been brought back to our attention by BT team member Steph. Every episode tells the story of a convicted inmate on death row in the US and details the murder they committed to be put there. Steph's pretty addicted right now, adding that "it's definitely heavy-going, but it's a great exploration of human nature and what drives people to do horrific things". For anyone interested, there are two juicy seasons to sink your teeth into right now.

My Neighbor Totoro & Kiki's Delivery Service

Having just recently returned from an incredible trip to Japan that we are all envious of in the office, Ashleigh's continuing the Japanese vibes at home by re-watching Studio Ghibli's amazing collection of animated films that have just been added to Netflix last month. The beautiful films are the perfect remedy to a rainy Sunday afternoon and remind Ash of her trip to the Studio Ghibli Museum in Tokyo!

Sex Education

I honestly don't know what to do with myself after binge-watching the entire second season of Sex Education in about a week. While no longer a teen myself, I've found myself entirely immersed in the aesthetically-pleasing high school drama that ensues in this British smash hit. There's plenty of heartwarming moments, cringe-worthy, awkward scenes and all the lush countryside scenery to please a visual creature like myself. Thankfully, there's a third season coming soon.
