These Are the Shows the Bed Threads Team Are Streaming Right Now

April is right around the corner which means new release shows, movies and documentaries to sink your teeth into. We're no strangers to binge-watching an entire season of our favourite show in an afternoon, and with more time spent at home, we're occupying ourselves with the freshest content we can get our eyes and ears on right now. While Netflix remains the leader of the streaming pack, there's an endless supply of addictive titles on other services like Stan, Amazon Prime, Foxtel and even Disney+ for your viewing pleasure. If you've been waiting for the perfect time to catch up on the world's most talked-about shows, now's the time to sit back, relax, and indulge yourself in some TV time.

Apple TV

Morning Wars

One of Apple TV's most popular new shows is Morning Wars—with a cast of household names including the likes of Jennifer Anniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carrell. This candid drama pulls back the curtain on the people who help wake the country up each morning through a fictional plot where news anchor Alex now has to fight for her spot at the top after her co-host is embroiled in sexual misconduct allegations.

The Sinner

When detective Harry Ambrose returns to his hometown in rural New York to investigate a gruesome murder case, he quickly realises this is no ordinary event. After an eleven-year-old boy shows no motive for the death of his own parents, Ambrose will come up against the secrets of his town and the people who will stop at nothing to protect them. (And that's just season one.)

Foxtel

Euphoria

It's the teen drama that sparked makeup and style trends as soon as it was released, and Foxtel has all of the episodes ready to binge from the comfort of your own bed. This dynamic series starts millennial superstar Zendaya as a group of high schoolers work their way through experiences with sex, drugs, friendship and trauma.

American Horror Story: 1984

The AHS franchise is one of the most popular series of its genre in recent years, with each series revolving around a completely new theme and time period—from a 1960s asylum to a terrifying circus. This time around, five friends leave L.A to become camp counsellors only to have their pasts come back to haunt them.

Netflix

Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez

We've been hearing a lot about this limited three-part series in the podcasts we're listening to and on social media. It examines how a star NFL star in the US became a convicted killer and investigates what was happening in his personal and professional life to lead him down such a dark path.

Pandemic

This recent docuseries might be a little bit too real for some people to watch right now, but for those who don't mind squirming in their seat, this is one of the most viewed additions to Netflix this year. As you might have guessed from the title, the series takes you behind the scenes of the battle against influenza and the incredible efforts by medical professionals to research and devise vaccines for vulnerable people.

Stan

Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist

it might sound like the beginning of a slew of other movies, but this brand new series to hit Stan stounds out from the pack. After an unusual accident, computer coder Zoey Clarke now can't seem to get the thoughts and secrets of the people around her out of her head. What's worse is that she hears them through popular songs. This musical comedy is basically the new Glee.

Everything's Gonna Be Okay

For those of us who mourned the end of Josh Thomas' breakout smash Please Like Me, we're finally being blessed with a new creation by the comedian. This one picks up with Josh living in the US with his estranged father and his two American teenagers. Once his father passes away, Josh's neurotic character Nicholas instantly becomes responsible for their wellbeing.

Prime Video

Homecoming

With a star-studded cast including Julia Roberts and Bobby Cannavale, you just know that Homecoming is going to be good. Julia's character Heidi is a former caseworker for the Department for Defense who has now relocated to a small town to live a quiet life as a waitress. When the Department calls unexpectedly asking the reason for her resignation, she's forced to face reality, not just the one she's been telling herself.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Winner of sixteen Golden Globes and three Emmy awards, this original comedy series is Prime Video's breakout star. Miriam Maisel is an elegant Upper West Side housewife with a seemingly perfect family and home who trades it all in when she discovers that she has a natural talent for stand up comedy. Set in the 1950s, she begins doing gigs in cafes and bars with the ultimate goal of getting a spot on the Tonight Show couch.

Disney+

Boy Meets World

I think we could all use a break from 2020 right now. To relive the good times and iconic stylings of the 90s, Disney has added the classic coming-of-age sitcom to its lineup to help us all reminisce on simpler times. Tune in to see how Corey Mathews and his friends dealt with the trials and tribulations of being a teen in the time of the Discman.

The World According to Jeff Goldblum

Everyone's favourite quirky actor, Jeff Goldblum has been given his very own documentary series, and rightly so. If you can't get enough of seeing his hilarious TV appearances, you'll love this lighthearted investigative docuseries where he tackles a specific topic (like ice cream) and puts together fascinating connections and talks to people with surprising insights that will make you think.

When it comes to Instagram, these are the under-the-radar accounts the Bed Threads team are following.
