From Wet Rooms to Bold Tiles, These Are 2024’s Top Bathroom Design Trends
Whether you're renovating or just want to make a small update.
Bathrooms have become more than just practical spaces. They present a unique opportunity to showcase personal style and a wellness sanctuary for unwinding and pampering.
There are endless options when it comes to bathroom design, but one of our favourite places to pull design inspiration from is what is currently trending. While trends can be fleeting, incorporating certain design elements can help you create a beautiful, timeless space which you'll love to start and end your day.
From mixed materials to wallpaper, these are the top bathroom trends to keep an eye out for in 2024 whether you're renovating or just want to make a small update.
Stand out tiles
The all-white bathroom is (nearly) a thing of the past in 2024. We’ll be seeing personality shine through in bathrooms, with eclectic pops of colour and unique accent tiles taking centre stage. Before you start that bathroom reno, you might want to reconsider keeping those retro tiles.
Wellness tools
Since the COVID pandemic, many of us have prioritised our lifestyles and decided to spend money on our well-being. This will correlate with bathroom trends for 2024 where steam showers, infrared saunas, and cold plunges being incorporated into designs. It's all about bringing that spa-like experience home.
Wallpaper
If you aren't in a position to do a full bathroom renovation or you live in a rental, the wallpaper trend is an easy way to freshen up your space. Bold patterns and prints are the go, showcasing a shift from all-white and all-grey interiors.
Mood lighting
Leaning further into the wellness trend, bathroom lighting in 2024 will be ambient and feature geometric patterns, darker hues, and peach tones which exude spa-like dreaminess. Backlit mirrors that emit a calming glow will also be at the forefront of bathroom designs this year.
Mixed Metals
Mixing metals has previously been a design faux pas, but just as the fashion world has started embracing the mix, 2024 bathrooms are also celebrating it. Getting the look right is a balancing act of picking one dominant metal and one accent metal. In mixing metals you can add visual depth and interest to your bathroom.
Wet rooms
Rather than separating the shower and bath, wet rooms, whereby the bathtub and shower are incorporated into the same space, create a more contemporary and seamless aesthetic for 2024. Not only can wet rooms make a bathroom look more luxurious, but they also make small bathrooms appear larger. They're also easier to clean!
Artistic details
When it comes to decorating a home with decor and art, probably the last place we think to embellish is our bathrooms. Not in 2024! This year, turning our bathrooms into the Loo-uvre Museum (excuse the pun), with vases, paintings, and objects. This will create a sense of personality and uniqueness within your space.
