Care Instructions

We want to make sure your products last as long as they possibly can.

100% French Flax Linen

Linen is a durable, natural material and if cared for correctly can last years – and years.

To ensure your products keep, wash your linen before you use it for the first time (and, hopefully, regularly after that) in a cold, gentle cycle using liquid detergent only, and leave on the line to dry.

Tumble-drying is not recommended, but if you must, avoid using a hot setting and overloading the machine. Do not bleach, iron or dry-clean your products, and if they happen to stain, launder immediately.

The thing about linen is that it gets better with time, softening with every wash, becoming more comfortable as time goes on. So, enjoy.

Your permission to stay in bed is here.

100% Mongolian Cashmere

Cashmere is a delicate fibre and requires a bit of extra love and care.

Our 100% Cashmere items should be washed using a natural wool or cashmere detergent, either by hand or on a gentle wool cycle in your machine at no higher than 30°C (86°F). Turn your cashmere item inside out to wash.

If you are using a machine, place your cashmere item in a delicates bag and wash on the lowest temperature setting. Once removed from the machine, lay your cashmere item flat on a towel to dry. Excess water can be very carefully wrung from the garment by rolling the towel up like a sleeping bag, squeezing gently as you go, and then unrolling.

If your cashmere is not in your regular rotation and needs to be stored, clean then fold it neatly and place one of your Bed Threads 100% French Flax Linen sacks to protect from moths, mould, and mildew.

Pilling, which is the gathering of fibres together in bobbles in areas where rubbing naturally occurs, is a natural occurrence with 100% Cashmere. You may notice pilling in areas such as where the sleeves brush against the hem on a sweater or at the inner thighs on a pair of pants. To remove pilling, lie your garment flat on a towel and use a delicate cashmere comb, brushing carefully in one direction in the affected area. Never use a razor as they may damage the natural fibres.
