These Are the Interior Decorating Trends You'll Be Seeing Everywhere in 2020

How is it possible that it's already time to start thinking about trends for 2020? This year has absolutely flown by as usual, but it has brought with it some new and interesting ways to decorate our homes that we've been witnessing via our favourite interior designers, magazines and of course, on Pinterest. If you haven't read about it yet, we've already predicted 2020's colour palette, but now's the time to delve a little deeper into the interior styles that are going to dominate our screens and pages for the new year.

Organic minimalism
Minimalism is a design style that has a huge amount of fans, however we tend to steer more towards this new, softer approach to simplicity. 2020 will see the popularity of organic vessels and handmade ceramics rise even further, and combined with sleek furniture and lighting, this minimalist interior aesthetic is one that we are excited for. Look for interesting sculptural pieces that will contrast well with linear furniture.

Sustainable haven
Sustainability as a whole is a topic that has gained a lot of traction this year, with plastic bags a thing of the past and reusable coffee cups commonplace in our daily lives. At home, there will be a push towards natural textures like jute and rattan, with indoor greenery remaining a hugely popular way to decorate while injecting a living element into your spaces. These warm and earthy elements will make for a retreat-like feeling at home.

90s pastel
Everything from the 1990s seems to be relevant today, and it seems impossible that the start of the decade was thirty years ago!? Next year, we'll be seeing a lot more soft pastel interior looks that combine the chubby furniture trend with soft peach tones for a very 90s Miami-inspired aesthetic.

Modern farmhouse
Hamptons-inspired design that incorporates elements such as wall panelling and shaker cabinets has been super popular for the past few years, but a new style of rustic decorating is emerging where deep greys and blacks aim as a contemporary nod to the farmhouse style we love while pushing the trend into the new decade.

Warm Mediterranean
A huge amount of our interior design inspiration at the moment is coming from places like Spain, Morroco and Greece, where textured walls and tones of red ochre set the scene for a warm paradise where your worries are nowhere to be found. Playful prints and shapes are also creeping in through homewares, with bright blue and black used to give new life to this punchy trend.

Japandi
A combination of classic Scandinavian design and cues from iconic Japanese style, this design trend has been lurking on the outer edge of interiors landscape for a few years, but we think it'll make it a bold entrance in 2020. Mix crisp shapes and lines with natural and imperfect elements to create the look.
